Why we started

Sell My Car Quick Today was founded in 2014after our directors spent years watching customers get squeezed by the well-known online car buyers. The story was always the same: a tempting online quote, then a tense forecourt visit where the price got shaved down for “dings, scuffs, and market changes.” By the time most people walked away, they’d lost £500 to £2,000 against the headline figure.

We thought we could do better — by being local, by quoting honestly, and by paying same-day every time. That’s the whole business in one sentence.

What makes us different

We’re an Essex business serving Essex drivers (and our neighbours in Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire). Our two centres — one in Marks Tey near Colchester, one at Lakes Innovation Centre in Braintree — are open six days a week and staffed by people who actually live around here.

We don’t do online auctions. We don’t lowball at collection. We don’t charge admin or transfer fees. The price you see online is the price we pay, provided your car matches what you told us.

Our team is made up of motor trade veterans, customer-care specialists, and a few car nuts who’d do this for free if we let them. Every car we buy is inspected by a senior buyer with at least ten years’ experience valuing UK vehicles.

Cars we’ve bought

Since 2014, we’ve bought over 5,200 cars from drivers across the East of England. From a 2002 Ford Fiesta with 120,000 miles on the clock to a near-new Range Rover Sport, every car has been valued and paid for the same way: fairly, transparently, on the day.

Where to find us

Our two collection centres are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 5:30pm, and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. You don’t need an appointment to drop by for a chat — but to actually sell, booking ahead saves you queueing.
